Mission

Our mission is to raise public awareness and condemn the systematic human rights violations committed by Iran's authorities against its own citizens. We are opposed to any foreign military intervention or economic sanctions, which will only harm the Iranian people.

Charter

Seattle4Iran is a non-partisan, non-political, young grassroots organization and its sole purpose is to stand in solidarity with the people of Iran in their struggle for democracy, freedom, and basic civil and human rights. This organization does not support any political agenda. Seattle4Iran is not for profit.

History

After the June 12th presidential election in Iran, the global community witnessed the violent beatings, killings, and censorship carried out by the Iranian government to silence the peaceful pro-democracy demonstrations. As a result, since the crackdown started, thousands of people are either dead, missing, or remain in Iranian prisons.

Since then, Iranians around the globe have supported their countrymen and women in their struggle for democracy and human rights. A group of Seattle-area residents similarly got together and formed Seattle4Iran to support this movement. Seattle4Iran hopes to raise awareness, gather support, and help the Iranian people for their cause.

How You Can Help

You can help Iranians in struggle for democracy in many ways:

Raise awareness among family, friends and colleagues. A 5 min talk with your family member, friends and colleagues can help a lot.
Follow Iranians struggle in the news. Also ask your news outlet, your local tv stations and news media to reflect the news.
Support Seattle4iran.org: your contribution can help us to organize various events locally or contribute to nation-wide events.
Visit United4iran's Act page regularly. It lists a few actions you can take to help.

New Members

We warmly welcome individuals that agree with our mission statement. You can help us achieve our mission by either joining us as a member, or becoming a fan.

Members attend our regular meetings, participate in brainstorming for future events and projects, help organize events, and participate in and/or manage projects.

Fans, on the other hand, receive notifications, and attend our events and functions.
